Street Sale party 2018 & 2019

Photographic documentation of our local 16th years old traditional annual street party at Belfast Road, Hackney, London, UK…

For the uninitiated – We tend to start setting up from 11ish and people tend to sell stuff they don’t want anymore for little or nothing or exchange it for stuff other people don’t want either and we tend to play music and have BBQs and feed each other and celebrate and do other stuff of that nature and everyone is welcome and anything goes and the sun always shines and if it doesn’t we’ll party in the rain… And then for the following three months we’ll all greet each other in the street with a sense of communitarian togetherness and wonder whether we actually ever met.
