Blood Wedding
by Federico García Lorca in a version by Ted Hughes. Directed by Flavia Corina Di Saverio.
November 2025
At the Tower Theatre, Stoke Newington.
Lorca’s Blood Wedding is one of the defining works of 20th-century European theatre. Part of his celebrated ‘Rural Trilogy’, alongside Yerma and The House of Bernarda Alba, it blends haunting lyricism with raw human longing. With a modern translation by acclaimed poet Ted Hughes, focusing on the power of language as a mode of dramatic expression, this production offers a rare chance to see a classic reborn with poetic intensity and emotional power.
